OV Kinos helps people find movies in their original language at cinemas across Germany. The app exposes public showtime discovery, city and neighborhood browse pages, language filters, and direct booking links to cinema partner sites.

## Terminology

- **OV** (Original Version): Film in original language, no subtitles
- **OmU** (Original mit Untertiteln): Original language with German subtitles
- **OmeU** (Original mit englischen Untertiteln): Original language with English subtitles

## Data Sources

- Showtime data: Scraped from cinema chain websites (Yorck, Kinoheld API)
- Movie metadata: TMDB API (posters, ratings, genres, runtime)
- Location data: OpenStreetMap/Nominatim for geocoding
- Map tiles: CartoDB (light/dark themes)

## Technical Details

- Built with Astro + Alpine.js
- Hosted on Cloudflare Pages + Workers
- Showtimes cached in Cloudflare KV (1-hour TTL)
- Cron job refreshes data every 2 hours
- ~98.5% TMDB match rate for movie enrichment

## Integration Notes

OV Kinos does not currently publish a documented public third-party API.

Account features such as saved cinemas are available on the website through first-party browser sessions. They are not documented as a public third-party auth API.
